The Wish Come True Society is a local, licensed non-profit society that was created in 2012 for the purpose of raising funds to build a children’s respite/hospice house in Kelowna.  Our volunteer Board of Directors, along with many more volunteer members, dedicate a great deal of time and effort into helping the society move forward. All of us live and work in Kelowna, and are very committed to our cause.

Our main fundraiser to date has been the Ugly Jacket Classic Annual Charity Golf Tournament, and in 2011 we raised $15,000 for Markus Smythe and his family.  Unfortunately, Markus lost his battle with rhabdomyosarcoma in October of that year, and while he was sick, he and his family had to spend quite a bit of time at Canuck Place in Vancouver.  All he wanted to do was be home in Kelowna with his friends, family and his dog, but Kelowna doesn’t have a children’s respite/hospice house.  This made us decide to embark on a mission to build such a place in Kelowna that would serve the entire interior and Northern BC as well!

It’s very tough on a family to have to go through serious illness and the possible death of a child without having to worry about leaving everything behind at home so they can be with their child in Vancouver at Canuck Place - which is the only facility for sick children in the province.  With your help, we hope to accomplish our goal so seriously ill children and their families won’t have to make the long, sometimes dangerous trip over the Coquihalla Connector to the lower mainland.

Be a part of this amazing process and help support the Wish Come True Society!
